Mini Mammoth games is a small, independent game development studio started in 2020 by I and seven others. Together, we created a studio focused on inclusivity and caring, and we try to build the industry in South Australia a little higher. Our focus is on creating novel Mobile games that fit within the casual and arcade space. We hope our works are interesting takes on the trends set by others, and that they excite our customers as much as they excited us as we made them.

My Role

My role in Mini Mammoth Games was to focus our attention and move us forward as an organisation. I also helped facilitate communication with other organisations both government and private in the search for support as we moved forward. I was actively involved in all the decisions that lead to Mini Mammoth Games having eight products ready for full commercial release to IOS and Android in the first quarter of 2021, and I actively designed and developed two of them from inception to release.

Our Goals

The goal of Mini Mammoth Games was always to help build a better industry in South Australia. We achieved that but giving our founders and the contractors we worked with experience working in the industry and building out their portfolios.

We also hope to create a kinder and more inclusive industry by excersizing our values:
Honesty, Integrity, Compassion and Respect

Our Products

In order to facilitate our goals as an organisation, we decided early on that the products we make should be small, complete experiences that could be expanded on in future. Additionally, they needed to be built for a market that was open and accessible, with very little development overhead. As such, we chose mobile for our products, and we focused on creating novel experiences in the arcade and casual genres. This meant that we could get multiple products out quickly, and move on from them if our customers werent interested in them.

Effectively we focused on a ‘fail fast’ method of development so that we could quickly upskill our developers and try to find the product that would stick. At the end of 2020 we had eight projects ready for full release. Some of those products have not been announced yet.
